I was introduced by a friend and lucky enough to dine here the opening (public) night. Food and service incredible and not so expensive as one might think for a 3 star Michelin chef. Ranked #22 out of 6082 restaurants (all be it by *tripadvisor*) in Paris makes it imperative to give it a shot. You need to dress up a bit not to feel out of place though but a special treat can be expected.

Le Petit Tonneau has three locations in Tokyo, all designed to capture the essence of an authentic Parisian bistro and boasting an extensive list of Southern French wines.

Hardly an "izakaya" in any real sense of the word, venerable Izakaya Vin combines a first-class wine list and impeccable French cuisine in a Shibuya location dominated by yakitori joints and smoke-filled watering holes. In other words, an oasis in an otherwise downmarket patch on Tokyo.

This is the most stylish and satisfying of the three Californian-style restaurants that share the Cardenas name and its distinctive take on Pacific Rim fusion food. The centrepiece is the grill, which serves up chicken, steak, fish and seafood, backed up by a strong selection of US West Coast wines.

Nondescript ground floor wine bar/restaurant situated between a pachinko parlor and it's cash-out window. Older Japanese crowd, service charge, overpriced chateau wines await. The website is worth a look if you want to see what the web looked like when people surfed it using Mosaic.
