Johanneshof Reinisch Gumpoldskirchner Tradition 2009
Full-bodied, tangy and full of zest, this low-alcohol (12%) wine is a great wine to enjoy on its own or with Asian dishes, tapas or Mexican food.
This is a wine that makes you sit up and pay attention. With a sharp, Picpoul-like zing and wonderful acid it invigorates the mouth and incites immediate quaffing. Thankfully the low alcohol content allows it, should you be so inclined. Better still to pair it with something spicy and exotic, where you'll find a firm wine capable of standing up to both spices and aromatic herbs. We like it with Gapao or Mimolette cheese, or on its own, on the veranda with an hour or so of daylight left in the day. And, hey, you've never had these grapes before anyway, so why not explore?
